Who am I

My name is Tim, I’m a 40s(ish) dad living in Canada with my wife Isabelle and my two children, Gabrielle (11) and Simon (6).

We also have a pretty awesome Parson Russell named Rosie.

Why I started this blog

I’ve always been something of a cinephile but having children sidelined that hobby rather substantially back in, oh about 2005 or so.

In these most recent years, my wife has been a stay-at-home mom and so, in a cost saving move, we Cut the Cord. This lead to my kids growing up with only a single tv and just YouTube and more recently Netflix as our sources for entertainment.

The vastness of Netflix and sheer volume of content on YouTube have also conveninced me of the need to be aware of what my kids are seeing on a daily basis.

In these recent years, I have spent many a day, chatting on social media with friends as to what shows, movies, activities or games were worthwhile and/or appropriate for my kids.

In those discussions, I came across many a hidden gem that I most likely would have missed, had I not gone looking for them.

This Blog us merely an extension of those discussions and perhaps a way for me to meet more like minded folks.
